Earn Hours/CEUs

Requirements for Earning Professional Hours/CEUs

All requirements must be completed in full by Friday, September 17, 2021, at 5:00 p.m. (ET). This is a firm deadline.

  1. Register for remote attendance
  2. Save or print the Session Verification Code and Quiz Worksheet
The Session Verification Code and Quiz Worksheet is for your use only (do not submit it). It includes links to all session quizzes and space to document the verification code after you watch each session. You will need these codes to complete the Remote Attendance Verification Form (step #6) after you have finished taking all your quizzes.
  3. Watch pre-recorded sessions & view presentation materials
Session videos will be available through the schedule at their listed start dates/times and will be posted throughout the week. You may watch the videos at any time. They will remain available through Friday, September 17. The session verification codes will be located in the videos.
  4. Document the session verification codes
After you watch each session, document the session verification code using your worksheet from step #2.
  5. Take quizzes
After viewing each session, please take a brief quiz using the link in the session description. Links to the quizzes can also be found in your worksheet from step #2. If you have any problems accessing the quizzes, please email Ashely Frye at AFrye@pattan.net.
  6. Submit Remote Attendance Verification Form
After you have collected the verification codes for ALL your sessions, you must submit them, along with your professional ID/license numbers, through the Remote Attendance Verification Form. Please only submit this form one time, after you have collected all of your verification codes. This is the only way to receive professional hours.

After you submit the Remote Attendance Verification form, you will receive an email verifying the receipt of your information. Save for future reference!

Your “Penn State certificate of attendance,” indicating the number of hours and Penn State CEUs you have earned, will be emailed to you.

Penn State Certificate of Attendance

Each conference participant who completes all requirements will be provided a certificate of attendance indicating the number of hours and Penn State CEUs earned. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are based on a standard of 1 unit per 10 hours of classroom instruction. The certificate will be based on the hours you complete (e.g., 42 hours of instruction OR 4.2 CEUs). You can earn a Certificate of Attendance even if you do not have a professional ID/license number.

Accrediting agencies calculate continuing and professional education hours.

2021 Total Possible Conference Credits: Forthcoming, pending approvals. Approvals will be posted as they become available. Check back in mid-June for updates. It is not necessary to complete the entire conference.

Act 48

Available Credits: TBD

Reporting: Upon verification that requirements were completed, Act 48 hours will be reported by Penn State. Hours are reported to the Pennsylvania Department of Education approximately 4–6 weeks after the September 17 deadline for submitting all requirements. Penn State must report Act 48 hours to the PDE Professional Record Management System (PERMS). You can verify those hours on the PDE web site. Note that Penn State uses the course number (not title). The course number is SPLED 5002 for the National Autism Conference.

Details: Penn State is an Act 48-approved provider. Prior to enrolling, professional educators are encouraged to confirm that this program fits their school district’s professional development plan for Act 48. To receive Act 48 hours, you must be a registered participant, complete quizzes, and record corresponding session codes to submit the online Session Verification Form. Penn State will report Act 48 hours to the Pennsylvania Department of Education for the educator. Proper authorization is necessary and, to ensure that Act 48 hours are reportable, certain data is required. This includes the educator’s full name and PPID number. A $50 administrative fee will apply for data that is provided after the deadline of 5:00 p.m. (ET), Friday, September 17 .

ASHA

Available Credits: TBD (registration pending)

This course is being offered for ASHA CEUs in an asynchronous format. Due to this format, ASHA CEUs are calculated in a different manner than for live courses. Course times are determined based on runtime of the video, not scheduled times. This may result in times being under or over the originally scheduled time. Videos must be reviewed in their entirety with the session code reported for the total minutes to be used for your conference total.

The total ASHA CEUS will be determined by adding the runtime of each session viewed to reflect the total of minutes for the course (i.e., NAC). The total number of minutes viewed for NAC is then divided by 60 to determine the total hours of viewing. This number is rounded DOWN to the nearest ½ hr. The hours (rounded if needed) are converted to ASHA CEUs by multiplying them by .1.
