Earn Hours/CEUs

Deadline for Earning Professional Hours/CEUs

Friday, September 17, 2021, 5:00 p.m. (ET)

All requirements must be completed in full by the deadline. Any Session Verification Forms received after the deadline will not be processed.

Requirements for Earning Professional Hours/CEUs

  1. Only registered conference participants can earn professional hours/CEUs
    Register for remote attendance
  2. Save or print the Session Verification Code and Quiz Worksheet
    Download worksheet
The Session Verification Code and Quiz Worksheet is for your use only (do not submit it). It includes links to all session quizzes and space to document the verification code after you watch each session. You will need these codes to complete the Remote Attendance Verification Form (step #6) after you have finished taking all your quizzes.
  3. Watch pre-recorded sessions and view presentation materials
Go to the schedule to watch sessions
Session videos will be available through the schedule at their listed start dates/times and will be posted throughout the week. You may watch the videos at any time, allowing you to complete concurrent sessions. They will remain available through Friday, September 17. The session verification codes will be located at the end of the video presentations.
  4. Document the session verification codes
After you watch each session, document the session verification code using your worksheet from step #2. Codes are case-sensitive (3 capital letters and 3 numbers).
  5. Take quizzes
After viewing each session, please take a brief quiz using the link in the session description. Links to the quizzes can also be found in your worksheet from step #2. You only need to submit each quiz one time. You do not need to earn a specific score. You will receive email confirmation for each quiz you submit. If you have any problems accessing the quizzes, please email Ashely Frye at AFrye@pattan.net.
  6. Submit Remote Attendance Verification Form
After you have collected the verification codes for ALL your sessions, you must submit them, along with your professional ID/license numbers, through the Remote Attendance Verification Form. Please only submit this form one time, after you have collected all of your verification codes. This is the only way to receive professional hours. Be sure to use the name with which you registered. If your last name has changed, please add a note in the comment area.
Go to the Remote Attendance Verification Form

After you submit the Remote Attendance Verification form, you will receive an email verifying the receipt of your information, including titles of all sessions attended. Save for future reference! This will help serve as your proof of attending specific relevant sessions for licensure and recertification boards, if necessary.

Your “Penn State certificate of attendance,” indicating the number of hours and Penn State CEUs you have earned, will automatically be emailed to you. The other professional certificates will be emailed by PaTTAN approximately 4–6 weeks after the September 17 deadline, upon verification that requirements were completed.

Penn State Certificate of Attendance

Each conference participant who completes all requirements will be provided a certificate of attendance indicating the number of hours and Penn State CEUs earned. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are based on a standard of 1 unit per 10 hours of classroom instruction. The certificate will be based on the hours you complete (e.g., 42 hours of instruction or 4.2 CEUs). You can earn a Certificate of Attendance even if you do not have a professional ID/license number.

Accrediting agencies calculate continuing and professional education hours.

2021 Total Possible Conference Credits: Up to 121.5

Approvals will be posted as they become available. It is not necessary to complete the entire conference.

Available Professional Hours/CEUs

You may receive hours for multiple accreditations when you register and complete all requirements.

American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)

Available Credits: Up to 4.3 ASHA CEUs

Not all sessions in this conference have been pre-registered for ASHA CEUS. Only videos listed for ASHA CEUs in the schedule will count in your total ASHA CEU amount. ASHA determines session times for pre-recorded conference sessions based on runtime of the videos, not scheduled times. This may result in times being under or over the originally scheduled time. Videos must be viewed in their entirety, with the session code reported, for the minutes to be used toward your conference total.

How ASHA CEUs Are Calculated

The National Autism Conference (NAC) total credits for ASHA CEUS will be determined by adding the runtime of each session viewed to reflect the total of minutes for the conference. The total number of minutes viewed for the conference is then divided by 60 to determine the total hours of viewing. This number is rounded DOWN to the nearest ½ hr. The hours (rounded if needed) are converted to ASHA CEUs by multiplying them by .1.

Example:

John watched a total of three pre-recorded conference sessions.

  • Runtime of first session: 143 minutes
  • Runtime of second session: 159 minutes
  • Runtime of third session: 76 minutes
  • Total time, in minutes, of all sessions viewed: 143 + 159 + 76 = 378 minutes
  • Total time in hours: 378 ÷ 60 = 6.3 hours (6 hours and 18 minutes)
  • Total time rounded down to the nearest 1/2 hour: 6 hours
  • Total number of ASHA CEUs: 6 x .1 = .6 ASHA CEUs

Reporting: Participants seeking ASHA credit hours must submit the online Session Verification Form. ASHA CEUs will appear on your ASHA Registry. A separate ASHA certificate for ASHA CEUs will not be provided.
