Student Scholarship

Student scholarships are available for the National Autism Conference to encourage Pennsylvania university and college students and recent graduates to pursue a career working with students with autism spectrum disorders and to become informed on evidence-based practices.

Scholarship Details and Eligibility

The Student Scholarship is available to a limited number of Pennsylvania university and college students in special education or a related field with a 2023 or 2024 graduation date.


Reimbursement for travel expenses will be available to accepted student scholarship applicants attending the National Autism Conference. These funds will be provided through the Pennsylvania Training and Technical Assistance Network (PaTTAN), the Pennsylvania Department of Education, and the Pennsylvania Bureau of Special Education. Please note that persons employed in a professional capacity by a school entity at the time of the conference should follow the attendance and reimbursement policy of the school entity.

Applicants are encouraged to make their hotel arrangements immediately, as lodging accommodations become more limited as the conference date approaches. Daily lunch and snacks will be provided as part of the National Autism Conference. Receipts for any additional approved expenses must be submitted for reimbursement.

Allowable Expenses for Reimbursement:

  • Complimentary conference registration.
  • Lodging reimbursement up to $140 per night, for a maximum amount of $560, during the conference (receipts required) if you live at least 30 miles from the conference location.
  • Mileage to be reimbursed at 65.5 cents per mile and tolls, if you live more than 30 miles away.
  • Meal reimbursement up to per diem expense for meals that are NOT provided as part of the National Autism Conference. Per diem rate is $31 for dinner. (Continental breakfast, lunch and break service are provided at the conference.) First and last day of travel will be reimbursed at 75% of the per diem no matter what time the traveler departs or returns. Meal receipts are not required.

Scholarships will be awarded by Friday, June 30. Notification will also be sent to those applicants who are not awarded scholarships.
