Laura Yates

Laura Yates, M.Ed., BCBA, earned her master's in special education from Millersville University. She took her BCBA course work and earned her Special Education Supervisory certificate through Penn State. Her undergraduate degree is in psychology, with related areas in sign language and children's literature from the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to becoming an educational consultant for PaTTAN, she served for seven years as a classroom teacher for K–3 students with low-incidence disabilities. Laura is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and is an adjunct professor for Eastern University. At PaTTAN her responsibilities include providing in-class consultation to autism support classrooms throughout Pennsylvania, working directly with students, teachers, para-educators and other staff to implement evidence-based instructional practice. As part of the Autism Initiative team in Harrisburg, Laura also assists heavily in scheduling and coordinating the annual National Autism Conference.
